Our School

Our Mission Statement:

As followers of Jesus, the faculty and staff of St. Coleman School will provide a spiritually enriched Catholic education that will encourage academic excellence and mutual respect within the school and parish.

 

 

Our Beliefs:

To Teach Catholic Values For A Lifetime

  • We will challenge our faculty, staff, students and families to witness their belief in Jesus Christ.

  • Emphasize a value of the month by decorating the bulletin board near the office.

  • The faculty will identify the values and each grade level will choose a month.

  • Emphasize the value of the month in the classroom and through administrative announcements.

  • We will teach with an integrated Catholic faith that is rooted by the Gospel and teachings of Jesus.

To Provide A Quality Academic Education That Continually Improves And Evolves

  • Provide professional development of faculty and staff through in-service workshops and subsidize post-graduate degrees.

  • Implement administrative leadership team; conduct regular faculty and grade level meetings.

  • Offer school convocations, guest speakers, field trips, outside programs, and community building opportunities.

  • Strive to become a School of Excellence.

  • Establish and maintain business partners to promote and assist the school.

  • Promote multi-cultural awareness and appreciation.

  • Be attentive to essential skills.

  • Incorporate multi-media and technology into curriculum for all subjects.

To Address Individualistic Needs Spiritually, Intellectually, And Socially

  • Utilize professional days to observe classrooms outside the building as needed.

  • Pursue and utilize the enrichment and remedial components for all students as needed.

  • Affirm students via certificates for special achievements including honor roll, outstanding behavior, etc.

  • Keep all parent / student problems confidential.

  • Provide a retreat for the faculty.

  • Conduct child abuse workshops for all staff and volunteers.

  • Provide a Catholic Social Service Counselor for student needs.

To Become Partners With All Parish Members In The Total Education Development Of The Saint Coleman Community

  • Work on service projects initiated by the Student Council throughout the school year.

  • Use bulletin boards to post school accomplishments.

  • Pray for parish needs.

  • Conduct parent grade level meetings.

  • Publish the school newsletter each trimester.

Saint Coleman School is accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference, an accrediting agency recognized by the State of Florida.  The school maintains membership in the National Catholic Educational Association and the Broward County Non-Public Schools Association.
